Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984 in White Plains, New York to an American Jewish family . He is the son of Karen Kempner (born in 1958), psychiatrist , and Edward Zuckerberg (born in 1954), dentist .On the maternal side, Karen Kempner is the daughter of Sidney Kempner (1921-2012), son of Harry Kempner (1892-1936) and Mary Steinberg (circa 1898-1965), and Gertrude Silver (born in 1924).On the paternal side, Edward Zuckerberg is the son of Jacob Zuckerberg (1919-2004), son of Max Zuckerberg (1899-1948) and Minnie Wiesenthal (1899-1986), and Miriam Hollander (1920-2004), daughter of Max Hollander (1873-1965) and Rose Schoenfeld (1880-1957), from Austria .Along with his three sisters Randi , Donna, and Arielle, Mark Zuckerberg was raised in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
